Ronald Kolb is a curator, researcher, author, and lecturer based between Stuttgart and Zurich. His practice investigates exhibitions and curatorial formats as social infrastructures and spaces of collective knowledge production, with a particular focus on post-exhibitionary practices, situated knowledges, commons and commoning, and political ecology.

In 2024, he completed his PhD in Fine Art within the PhD in Practice in Curating programme at the University of Reading and Zurich University of the Arts. His dissertation, “Curating as Governmental Practices,” develops the concept of the post-exhibitionary complex and examines participatory curatorial practices under translocal conditions.

In 2025/26, he served as Artistic Director of M.1 at the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung, where he developed the process-based programme “Art as Ecological Practice.” From 2017 to 2024, he was Co-Head of the Postgraduate Programme in Curating at ZHdK, and from 2018 to 2025 Editor-in-Chief of OnCurating.org. He currently teaches curatorial practice in continuing education at ZHdK. His current projects connect contemporary art with foodscapes, ecological practice, and collective forms of learning.
