Camilla Berner
Visual artist Camilla Berner (DK 1972) works cross-aesthetically and interdisciplinary incorporating knowledge and skills from other fields, especially the natural sciences. She most often works site-specifically, based on the given situation and context, involving the materials that exists in the particular place, plants, seeds, pollen, soil, wood, stone etc., expressed in a wide range of media. The relationship between nature and culture continuously occupies Berner and is used as a prism to discuss the understanding and history of nature, as well as to gain an understanding of where the stories come from and what ideas they contribute to. Dialogue is important to her project and the audience is often invited to participate in various work processes or to contribute knowledge and perspectives. She has participated in a large number of exhibitions internationally and is represented in both private and public collections.
