Byungseo Yoo

Eco-Transpedagogy and Fermentative Art Practices

Byungseo Yoo combines contemporary art with culinary and ecological experiments. His work focuses on fermentative processes as a means of social and planetary reflection.

For Art as Ecological Practice, he is developing a project on horticulture and ancient food preservation techniques.

Byungseo Yoo is known for his time-consuming cooking experiments. For his hundred-day exhibition in Geneva, for example, he prepared food for visitors every day. Yoo works at the interface between fine dining and avant-garde art and other contemporary art practices, drawing on art-historical references related to eating and cooking.

Visual artist Byungseo Yoo navigates the shift from wild to social fermentation with Eco-Transpedagogy, creating participatory art focused on planetary concerns. His international exhibitions foster ephemeral communities and ecological dialogue.
