Parents in Arts 2026: Open Call

Parents in Arts Residency Grant of the Ministry of Culture and Media Hamburg for Artists and Writers at the M.1 of the Arthur Boskamp Foundation in Hohenlockstedt, Summer 2026

Six two-week working residencies are being offered at the M.1 of the Arthur Boskamp Foundation in Hohenlockstedt for writers, literary translators, or comic artists, as well as visual artists and curators who are parents. Three of the six grants will be awarded in the field of literature and three in the field of visual arts. Childcare will be available for two of the six residencies.

The call is open exclusively to artists and authors residing in Hamburg, e.g. within fare zones ABCD of the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV).

The Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung was established in 2003 as a non-profit organisation based in Hohenlockstedt, Schleswig-Holstein. Since 2007, it has actively promoted the visual arts and culture through its work at the M.1 in Hohenlockstedt. Central to its mission is the combination of an international outlook, local cultural engagement, and a deliberate focus on a rural setting. The exhibition and event spaces at the M.1 are curated by changing artistic directors. For the Parents in Arts residents, two fully equipped guest flats are available on the upper floor of the building. In addition, a shared kitchen, library, and communal studio space may be used. The house also includes a dedicated children’s playroom and a large garden.
