Cecilie Kappel & Sæunn la Cour Degnbol Activated-by-the-artists, 2026 Intervention of the press release: More-than-9 Site-Specific Art Works for Hohenlockstedt With Anton Backe, Benedikte Eide, Johan Buch, Julia Karla, Ruby Mariama Laura Andersen Ndoye, Sarah Folker Kappel, Sæunn la Cour Degnbol, Sæunn-and-Cecilie, Cecilie Kappel, Nina Fjordbak Nielsen, Cecilie Kappel and Nina Fjordbak Nielsen Opening: 13 January 2026, 5pm Place: M.1, Hohenlockstedt In September, nine fine-art students from the Malmö Art Academy had a reflection-moment at the Fall Assembly at M.1 in Hohenlockstedt. Through listen-carefully, taking-in, moments-of-gathering, situated engagements and casual-conversation with people and places, the-shifts in their practices respond to the specific trans-locality, social, historical, and ecological-textures of this site and resist fixed narratives. In the transformative-space of the Arthur Boschkamp Stiftung and in the-garden-herself of Hohenlockstedt the artistic-enquiries emerge. A moment-of-gathering and a moment-of-mediating. In a wide range of artistic-approaches stemming from bird-watching and an interest in understanding-the-complexities of the village-blossoming, so-important personal-narratives ask who-owns-the-narrative? The artists have first and foremost asked themselves: How-can-we-find-ways-of-engaging? Rather than representing Hohenlockstedt, a-discussion-on-scale or the modern-world, the artists test how artistic-approach can remain attentive, provisional, and relational. At the moment-of-gathering the viewers are encouraged to a moment of taking-in and to listen-carefully in the moment-of-mediating created in this art-world-as-a-seperate-world. There are of course positions-and-power-embedded-in-the-role-of-the-artist but most of all there is no-right-no-wrong-only-love! There-are-artworks which develop-new-language. There-are-artworks which engage with art-as-ecology and ecology-as-art. There-are-artworks which are open-for-questions. There-are-artworks which try to understand-the-complexities. Sharing-will-contine, join us for the opening!
